Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Milliman. Payment is made in early August. Selection of Finalists Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of: Academic performance Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities Work experience A 500-word essay* Unusual personal or family circumstances, if applicable Two letters of recommendation: One letter from an employer (current or previous) One letter from a professor or advisor Financial need is not considered. Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America and Milliman will select recipients. Evidence of commitment to the actuarial field must be demonstrated to be selected as a recipient.
