• This program is open to residents of Alabama and Mississippi who are high school seniors or full-time undergraduates at an accredited college or university in any state.
• Applicants must be children or spouses of AIST Birmingham Chapter members or participants in its Material Advantage program.
• They must be studying or planning to study engineering and have a demonstrated interest in a career in the iron and steel industry.
• If there are no applicants in engineering, the award may be given to an eligible student majoring in other fields related to iron and steel production.
• Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
