• This competition starts at the local level, where Exchange Clubs select their own Youth of the Month and (from them) Youth of the Year winners.
• Then, clubs nominate their Youth of the Year winners for district competition.
• The district winners then compete on the national level.
• National candidates must be high school seniors who are qualified for graduation from public, parochial, or private schools and who have been selected Youth of the Year winners on both the club and district levels.
• Selection is based on school participation, including student government, newspaper or annual, athletic teams, musical activities, debate activities, stage productions (160 points), community service activities (40 points), grades (200 points), personal achievements, and award….
