Sonjanita Moore

The Anita Moore-Hubbard 'Butterfly Effect' Memorial Scholarship is funded by Sonjanita Moore in memory of her mother, Anita Moore-Hubbard, who was a dedicated teacher, college advisor, and adjunct professor for over twenty-five years. Raised in Mount Vernon, Alabama, Anita was deeply committed to community service and inspired many students throughout her career. This scholarship aims to support high school seniors from Illinois who are Black or African American, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and are pursuing a four-year college degree, while also emphasizing the importance of community service and the impact of education on personal growth and societal change.
